Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a free multiplayer online first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage and published by id Software, the creators of Doom and Wolfenstein series.

Enemy Territory was planned to be an expansion of the commercial game Return to Castle Wolfenstein but later they decided to released for free.

The game is team based and you can join the Axis or the Allies during World War II. There are it 5 available character classes and many different weapons. Locations are divided into six huge campaign maps featuring real WWII locations in North Africa and Europe. The game and the graphics are powered by an enhanced version of the Return to Castle Wolfenstein engine.

Considered by Firing Squad the 'best multiplayer game ever', the game can be played not only in objective and campaign modes, but also on a team-based Last-Man-Standing game mode. In 2010 the source code was also released for free under the GPL licence.
